We sat down with Danny Kinny from Kinny Screens in Sydney and asked him some questions about his business.
- How long has Kinny Screens been around?
My wife & I started Kinny Screens in Oct 2017. We quickly realised I needed help and long-time mate Ben Clothier and his wife joined Kinny Screens in early 2018 and we haven’t looked back. Both Ben and I enjoy having our children work in the business with us, we are a family business.
- What screens do you manufacture?
We manufacture all Invisi-Gard / Alu-Gard products as well as all screens and doors to meet all the requirements of our client base from all BAL-rated screens and fire attenuation screens to basic fiberglass mesh screens.
- How many staff members do you have?
We have 7 full-time staff members
- What is a stand-out project of yours?
We have done a lot of interesting jobs, but a definite stand out is Picton Court House. The building needed fire attenuation screens on the arched windows, so we had the Invisi-Gard window frame curved to match the windows and door, it came up very well.
- How has your business changed over the years?
Kinny Screens has evolved in a short period of time, we started out servicing a few window businesses and have expanded into dealing with leading Sydney-based commercial window fabricators that deal with Tier 1 builders as well as supplying wholesale to other businesses.
- Any advice to other screen dealers out there?
Keep it simple and always consider trying new things even if out of your comfort zone.
